This double decker Moon Pie has been coated in a smooth salted caramel coating that compliments the crisp graham cracker and fluffy marshmallow filling beautifully.

If you don't know, a Moon Pie is an American confection popular across the United States consisting of two round graham cookies sandwiching a layer of marshmallow filling dipped in a flavoured coating!

Made by Chattanooga Bakery, Inc. in Chattanooga, Tennessee, these double decker versions contain a third cookie and attendant layer of marshmallow filling for an even sweeter treat!
The story goes that around a century ago, a travelling salesman from the Chattanooga Bakery was visiting a company store that catered to miners, and he asked a miner what kind of snack he wanted to see in his lunch pail. The miner requested something made with graham crackers and marshmallows. When asked how big it should be, he held his hands up to frame the moon and said, "About that big!". With that in mind, the Moon Pie was born and became an iconic staple of the "working man's lunch".

Unlike our Wagon Wheels, a Moon Pie consists of two circular graham crackers, with a layer of marshmallow filling in the middle, coated in a flavoured coating.
How can it be made greater, you ask? Why, double it up, of course! Add an extra biscuit and a layer of Marshmallow filling, and enjoy an even bigger crunch!
